- Metalib+ is a hosted service that contacts our e-resources, a platform of sorts. It's a vehicle through which queries are sent to e-research, and it presents results. It will eventually replace e-research. It's not a new name for Primo Central.
- Primo Central is an Ex Libris database, an index of collected records from all sorts of providers such as Elsevier and Springer link. (Ebsco is notably absent.)
- The rest of the resources that come up in the Metalib+ drop down search window are the old "quick search" e-resources, and they work the way they used to, nothing different.
- Primo is fast, and good for general searches. It works particularly well with RefWorks, and can now also export into EndNote and Mendeley. Latest update allows you to select multiple facets and add entire pages to your e-shelf.
Here is a link to the site that Mary Hecht maintains about Primo Central that contains a spread sheet of the included resources. She also includes updates at the bottom of the emails she sends each month outlining new e-resources.

ExLibris rebranded it to distinguish it from the Primo Central Index, which you accurately describe below (although I would call it the Primo Central Index). Yes, I realize that in the drop down we still have it as just Primo Central. Do you think Primo Central Index would be any less confusing to patrons?
I’d say that the Primo Central Index is also good for finding some of the non-book format material. The index includes records for video, diaries, news transcripts and images.
