TLG Database (Thesaurus Linguae Graecae)

Recently, we've gotten questions about the Thesaurus Linguae Graecae, a full-text database of Greek literature. It's available online, but Harvard only provides access from seven workstations, because of the enormous cost of a university-wide license. Here are the locations of computers with access to the online TLG:

• Atkins Reference Room (Windows workstations 10 and 11)
• Smyth Classical Library (one workstation)
• Andover Harvard Library (two workstations)
• Classics Department, Boylston Hall (two workstations)

The workstations in the Atkins Reference Room have a TLG label on the top of their monitors. Users can access the database with the TLG shortcut on the Start menu.

A CD-ROM version of the TLG is stored behind the Atkins Reference Desk with other CD-ROMs. Occasionally patrons may ask to use the CD-ROM instead of the online version. In that case, insert the disk in the CD-ROM workstation near the Reference Desk.
