I
just wanted to bring your attention to a potential issue that Francesca
has alerted me to. There is a visiting scholar who seems to be calling
departments in Widener claiming that she was told that a reference
librarian could order an item from the CRL
for her. As near as we can tell this claim originated with her. And as
you all know, we don't order CRL items for anyone. Harvard affiliates
can request CRL material through Interlibrary Loan. Anyone who is not
eligible for ILL privileges must pursue another
route. If someone has an affiliation with an institution that is not a
member of CRL they still may be able to request items through their
institution's ILL department, as this
page explains.
Please do not request anything from CRL on behalf of this person (or anyone else).
Thanks,
Reed
