I enjoyed this post from Musings About Librarianship about aspects of Google Scholar he had been unaware of previously (and mentions Harvard's repository along the way). I too was unaware of these issues. He also includes a link to Google Scholar Digest, which I think is worth checking out, especially the Bibliography page.
