Password-Protected Databases on Lamont Level B

The workstations on Lamont Level B require passwords for several databases such as IndiaStat, OneSource, STAT-USA, and USA Trade Online. These aren’t accessible via Harvard ID and PIN, but a library staff member can log on to them for a user by typing the username and password. Except for IndiaStat, we don’t let patrons know the username and password for any of these databases.

To see a general list of passwords (including IndiaStat), go to the Passwords page in the Reference Manual:

Near the bottom of the page you’ll see a link to “Restricted Access Databases,” those whose passwords are not given out to patrons. In order to follow this link, you need to be logged in to the wiki as yourself (not just via the LamRef automatic login). All current staff users of the wiki should be able to see this page, as long as you’ve logged in as yourself.

NESOUROCE is probably the most frequently requested of these Restricted Access Databases. It can only be used on workstations 13 and 14. Our username and password are on the Restricted Access page. If you can’t get into the wiki for some reason, a print-out of the Passwords is kept in the closet behind the reference desk. It’s in a file folder labeled “LOGONS,” above the loaner USB drives and other supplies.
